Training for Future Biosecurity Incursions

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Biosecurity New Zealand training sessions over the last few months.

We have had a fantastic response from our members keen to get a better understanding of the CIMS (Coordinated Incident Management System) model so we will be better prepared in helping protect our region and support responses.

The final training exercise asked participants to roleplay a real-life biosecurity response.  The simulation, featuring an invasive marine pest, gave us a chance to be actively involved in all facets of a response.

Strong input from mana whenua was much appreciated with representatives embedded across each of the functions.

Thanks again to Biosecurity New Zealand for providing this opportunity by extending their in-house training to TMBC members.
