The Port of Tauranga Biosecurity Excellence programme is running full steam ahead with several on-port activities planned during Biosecurity Week.
The team will be visiting all staffrooms and portacoms throughout the week to meet workers at the frontline and on the forefront of our region’s biosecurity protection. A small group from the Port, Biosecurity New Zealand, and KVH will be discussing (over a well deserved ‘thank you’ morning tea) the importance of biosecurity; our biggest threats; potential impacts of an incursion; and how imperative it is that reports of anything unusual are made early.
As well as the ever popular ‘unwanted pest calendars’ the team will be trialling new induction/biosecurity training booklets and measuring the success of the biosecurity kits that were introduced last year.
